My name is Stéphane CUNY and I was born in Algiers, on October 14th, 1957. My father passed away when I was six months. I could walk at the age of seven. Thanks to a surgeon who operates my ankles and realised a bone graft. At the age fourteen I studied tailor trade for men and learnt to draw. My teacher was a member of the “Independent Artists Society” in Paris. In 1979, I participated for the first time to the same exhibition as my teacher.
In twenty nine years my life changed and I settle down in Nantes and I changed profession.
Then at the age of thirty-nine years I travelled trough Central Europe and was desperately in love with this region, so rich in art.
Finally, in forty-nine years, I picked up again my paintbrushes and my colours, while I achieved “The Miracle of Saint Sylvester”.
